If you’ve been given the unenviable task of organising the Christmas party for the whole office, it can be a little daunting!
Trying to find something which is fun but that everyone will be on board with can be harder than it seems!
Well worry not because here at Twizzle, party planning in our thing, so we’ve got ten great ideas for your Christmas party.

Race Night

A night at the races can make for a great alternative Christmas party, with racecourses around the country offering some great packages including food, drinks and entertainment.
If you really want to spread some festive cheer, you could even save up a kitty and give each guest some money for a flutter so that they don’t have to worry about gambling with their own money!

Ugly Christmas Jumpers

Everyone loves a Christmas jumper, but why not up the ante and see who can find the most garish and extreme one?
We’re talking light up reindeer noses, singing Santas and stuck on baubles! If you can’t find something quite that out there, we’ve all got some sort of ugly jumper which got thrown in the back of a wardrobe, so what better time to dig it out.
Reindeer ears and other props are also a great idea, and of course, a prize for whoever holds the dubious title of ugliest jumper.

Christmas movie marathon

Whether it’s classics such as It’s a Wonderful Life or Miracle On 34th Street or more modern favourites such as Elf and The Nightmare Before Christmas, the festive season is associated with loads of heart-warming and hilarious movies.
For a cheap party idea, why not just set up a projector in the office, round up some beanbags, make some popcorn and have your own Christmas movie marathon?
For some inspiration, check out this list of 50 of the best Christmas movies from TimeOut.
If it’s a little bit tame for your office, you can always throw some drinking games into the mix!

Murder mystery

Murder mystery parties have become more popular in recent times, and although they take a bit of organising they can be a fun alternative.
Each guest is given an identity and has to play their character throughout the night, trying to find out who the murderer is by working together and following the clues, all while the murder tries to avoid being caught out.
If it all seems like a little too much hassle, why not get in touch with us here at Twizzle to see if we can help?

Boat party

If you’re lucky enough to live in a city with a river or lake, why not make use of them and take your party to the water?
For example, in London, Thames Leisure offer packages including buffet drinks and disco, and there are similar services in York and Bath for example.

Christmas on wheels

And carrying on that transport theme, how about spending your Christmas party aboard a train?
There are numerous lines offering Christmas journeys such as the Belmond British Pullman which has various routes around the Kent countryside.

Team building

If you don’t fancy the traditional boozy Christmas party, maybe take the opportunity for a bit of team building?
There are all kinds of options out there such as escape rooms which force your colleagues to work together to find a solution.

Bring the party to the office

For a more low-key and intimate affair, why not bring the party to the office? You can have all of the food and drink totally covered by a local catering company and have the party come to you! Alternatively, you can just order in a takeaway!

Karaoke

Karaoke can be very hit and miss, both in terms of whether people are actually keen to take part and whether they’re any good or not!
However, if it’s something which you think your office would enjoy, go for it! Of course, you have to make it a Christmas special and line up some Christmas classics though.

Office awards ceremony

This one was made famous in the US version of The Office, but we’re sure you can pull it off without looking too much like Michael Scott or David Brent!
Pick out some fun award categories, they can be anything from funniest to worst dressed and hand out prizes or trophies at a big gala dinner!
The possibilities really are endless with Christmas parties, but it’s important to try and cater to as many people as possible.
If you’re struggling at all, feel free to get in touch with our party experts here at Twizzle and we’ll see if we can help take some of the strain so you’ve got more time to enjoy yourself!
